Agape Care Is the First Hospice Care Provider in South Carolina to Offer Directly Administered Vaccinations for Its Employees

Agape Care South Carolina, a leading hospice and palliative care provider announced today that it is the first hospice care provider in South Carolina to offer directly administered vaccinations for its employees. Working with The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), Agape Care’s clinical team has been fully briefed and trained on the protocols in order to effectively offer vaccinations on-site at its branches for more than 900 employees in Phase 1A of the state’s vaccination plan.

“This is a critical development,” said Carry vandenMaagdenberg, Chief Operating Officer for Agape Care Group. “Our clinical team cares for more than 1,500 patients each day across all 46 counties in the state so it is essential that we are able to offer them the COVID-19 vaccine as an additional protection measure. We are making this effort for the health and welfare of our team members, their families, our patients, their caregivers and our community.”

Employees of Agape Care South Carolina will have the option to get vaccinated starting on February 8, 2021 on-site at designated Agape Care branches. Every employee who is vaccinated will be registered with the Vaccination Administration System, which is maintained by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“We are grateful to DHEC for providing this opportunity to our team,” said Troy Yarborough, Chief Executive Officer of Agape Care Group. “Our staff has taken remarkable safety precautions to continue to provide end of life care to patients in South Carolina. This is another way that supporting our team protects our patients and our community.”
